Salary: $23 - $28 / per hour
Maxim Healthcare Services is hiring for a Paraprofessional/ Behavior Technician to work 1:1 or with small groups of students in the classroom setting. If you have a passion for working with children with special needs and strong communication skills, this could be a great opportunity for you!

Location: Onsite; East San Jose
Schedule: M-F 8am-3pm

Responsibilities:
Help children work on social skills, communication skills, and repetitive or restrictive behaviors
Document child’s progress and milestones
Follow and implement IEP Plan/Goals as directed by school
Potentially a ssist students in development of independent daily living skills through self-care activities such as toileting, clothing routines, and personal hygiene
Supports students across environments (i.e classroom, playground, gym, etc.)
Perform other duties as assigned/necessary
Qualifications:
Passion for working with children with special needs
Strong communication skills
High School diploma or equivalent required
Must be at least 18 years of age
Completion of coursework in one of the following programs: psychology, education, social work, behavioral science, human development or a minimum of one year experience working with children in the following capacities: Child Development, Camp Counselor, Paraprofessional, Behavioral Interventionist, ABA Therapist, or Behavior Technician required.
Experience in a classroom environment with elementary age children (preferred)
Current CPR/FA if applicable
TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
